Kent Mango’s “ King of the Fruit”

In cooperation with Luna Verde’s Growers and Packing Stations in Piura and Casma, Peru, we provide the market with superior-quality Kent Mango’s transported by Aircrafts into the European markets.

Kent Mango’s are oval shaped, a green yellowish skin with red blush, a unique flavor, nearly fibreless texture, and a very juicy rich sweet taste. Delicious is an understatement for these fruits, they are delightful!

Yearly from November to May the Growers produce 8000 ton Kent mango’s on 326 hectares plantations. During 2017 another 66 hectares were planted with young mango trees going in production in 2020. The Growers live on the farms, among the thriving Mango groves. Combining innovations and traditions, they strive to produce the best tasting fruit while conserving resources for future generations. The managers actively utilize integrated Pest Management in the groves to reduce the frequency, application and overall usage of pesticides. They are converting the groves to drip irrigation and micro-sprinklers to eliminate excess water application. Sustainability and protecting the environment is the main project! Electronic grading and selection on weight, color, and external/skin defects controls the quality, and digital camera systems check and selects the firmness, brix degree and pulp formation for superior quality.

Mango’s transported in Reefer containers cannot compete with the taste and beauty of the
Kent Mango’s matured on the tree and shipped by air.

Matured Tree-Ripened Kent Mangoes:

Tree Ripened Mangoes are a specialty often found in specialized and high-end Retailers. These Mangoes are popular because of their superior delightful rich taste. Tree Ripened Mangoes are airfreighted and find their ways into Markets with a preference for quality and taste. Beyond the sweet luscious taste they also contain an abundance of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that assures optimum health.

Kent Mangoes are harvested when mature and shall ripen to become “Ready to Eat “. Maturity may be judged by a combination of various factors, including Brix (Soluble Solid Content {SSC}) percentage.

Brix degrees is the sugar content of an aqueous solution. One degree Brix is 1 gram of sucrose in 100 grams of solution and represent the strength of the solution by mass. If the solution contains dissolved solids other than pure sucrose,then the°Bx only approximates the dissolved content

The Fresh Food Industry experiences an increase in food Safety and Sustainability certifications. Social Compliance and Environmental Responsibility are important. The associated growers work under our Central Quality Management System (QMS) regulations, ensuring that they are at all times up to date about upcoming changes in the Certifications. The Groves are regularly checked by our Agronomists on Food Safety, Quality Standards, Pesticide Management and Social Compliance. All Associated Growers receive practical and financial assistance throughout the demanding cultivation and certification process. All farm employees undergo strict training sessions on good agricultural practices; welfare, health, safety and sustainability. Harvesting is centrally organized by Luna Verdes’ harvest teams’. Training and integration into our QM systems are of utmost importance as these are the first quality checks in the process, and complete control over the chain of production.
